Privacy policy

This is a translation provided for information purposes. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and the Spanish version, the Spanish version shall prevail.

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Act 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), website users are hereby informed about the processing of their personal data.

Data collected and purpose of processing

The following categories of personal data are processed:

1. Contact details and quote requests.

  • Data: first name, surname, email address, telephone number.
  • Purpose: to prepare the requested quote, contact the user, respond to enquiries and carry out the services engaged.
  • Legal basis: consent of the data subject and performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Articles 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).

2. Documents submitted for translation.

  • Data: official documents (certificates, degrees, judgements, contracts, etc.) which may contain identifying, academic, professional, judicial, family or other personal data.
  • Purpose: to prepare the translation quote, carry out the sworn or specialised translation service and deliver the result to the user.
  • Legal basis: consent of the data subject and performance of a contract (Articles 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where documents contain special categories of data, processing is based on the explicit consent of the data subject and on the exercise of the officially accredited professional activity.

3. Browsing data.

  • Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent browsing.
  • Purpose: to ensure the proper functioning of the website and to compile anonymised usage statistics.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest of the controller (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention period

  • Contact and quote data: retained for as long as necessary to deal with the request. If the job is not confirmed, the data is deleted within a maximum of 6 months.
  • Documents submitted for translation and completed translations: retained for the legal period applicable to the profession of sworn translation. Once that period has elapsed, they are securely deleted.
  • Tax and invoicing data: retained for the periods required by Spanish tax and commercial legislation (6 years, Article 30 of the Commercial Code).

Data recipients

The user’s personal data is not disclosed to third parties except where required by law. The service providers necessary for the operation of the website (hosting, email, management and analytics tools) access the data only to the extent strictly necessary to provide their services, and act as data processors under the corresponding contracts.

Specifically, Beatriz Rodríguez San Julián works with the following data processors, with whom the corresponding contracts have been entered into in accordance with Article 28 GDPR: Diseño Gráfico y Publicidad ARTBYTE, S.L. as web agency and maintenance provider; Webempresa Europa, S.L.U. as web hosting and professional email provider; and Google Ireland Limited as web analytics provider, the latter processing data only where the user has accepted analytics cookies.

Hosting and email are provided from servers located in the European Union. In the case of the analytics service, Google may carry out international transfers relying on the mechanisms set out in Chapter V GDPR; further details are available in the cookie policy and in Google’s privacy policies.

Professional confidentiality

As a Sworn Translator-Interpreter, the owner is bound by a strict duty of confidentiality and professional secrecy in respect of the documents and data submitted to her for translation. Documents are not shared with third parties under any circumstances without the express consent of the data subject.

Rights of the data subject

Users may exercise the following rights at any time:

  • Access to their personal data.
  • Rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure of data when it is no longer necessary.
  • Restriction of processing.
  • Objection to processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdrawal of consent given.

To exercise these rights, users may write to info@bearsanjuliantraduccionjurada.es enclosing a copy of an identity document.

Users have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if they consider that the processing of their data does not comply with current legislation.

Security measures

The owner adopts the technical and organisational measures necessary to ensure the security of personal data and to prevent its alteration, loss, or unauthorised processing or access, taking into account the state of the art, the nature of the data and the associated risks.
